EU pledges to support Kabul Municipality

KABUL (SW) – The EU delegation in Afghanistan has pledged to support the Kabul Municipality in development projects, said an official statement.

The Kabul Municipality announced on Twitter that the Deputy Representative of the European Union in Kabul, in a meeting with the Mayor of Kabul, had assured of cooperation with the Kabul Municipality.

The Kabul Municipality said that after the reopening of the EU Delegation office in Kabul, the EU deputy envoy for Afghanistan, David Martinon met with Kabul Mayor Abdul Rashid.

The Kabul Municipality has not clarified the exact time of this meeting. The EU envoy in Kabul has assured of cooperation in the field of construction projects, it said.

Following a request from the Kabul mayor for cooperation, David Martinon said the European Union would work together to raise the level of development and prosperity, as well as the implementation of construction projects in the capital, said the KM.

The EU delegation office in Kabul reopened about a week ago after a months-long hiatus following the recent political and security developments in the country.
