Camp established for flood victims in Logar

PUL-E-ALAM (SW) – The local officials of Logar have said that a housing camp has been built for the flood-affected families of Khushi district.

Sibghatullah Naibkhel, the press officer of Logar Rural Development and Reconstruction Department, told Salam Watandar that the camp was built in a safe area near the district administration area.

He added that now 250 residential tents have been erected and it is expected that the number of tents will be doubled.

Naibkhil added that the aid given is not enough, but in connection with a number of institutions and organizations, they should provide emergency aid to the flood-affected families in the Khushi, Pul-elam and Muhammad Agha districts.

Ibadullah Siddiqui, a resident of Logar, told Salam Watandar that they have not received any help so far. The government and charitable organizations should first provide shelter to the flood-affected families of the district and then provide them with food and non-food items. provide, said.

He added that the camp built for flood-affected families near the district headquarters is not enough, because according to him, up to 200 families can be accommodated in this camp.

It should be said that on Sunday night, after heavy rains, floods hit Logar’s central Pul-e-lam and Khushi districts, during which 20 people were killed, 32 were injured, 4 people went missing, 3,000 houses were destroyed and 2,000 animals were also killed.
