Blood donations by Salvation Movement save lives

KABUL (SW) – The National Salvation for Life Movement provides free blood to patients in need. According to its officials, this initiative, pioneered by 15 young activists, aims to facilitate coordination between blood donors and patients in need across Afghanistan.

Qudratullah Ziayi says that they currently have 31,000 active members for blood donation across Afghanistan. He adds that on average, they can supply 5,000 cc of blood daily to patients in need in each province.

He stresses, “We have created WhatsApp groups to coordinate between blood donors and patients in need. Our request from patients is to send their blood request in these groups, and when they send it to us, we introduce the registered individuals to the hospital for blood donation.”

Qasim, a resident of Kabul city in need of blood, recounts how he managed to obtain free blood for his wife through coordination with the National Movement. “I needed blood for my wife; she had low blood, and someone from the National Salvation for Life Movement WhatsApp group came and donated blood.”

Karimullah Amini, one of the activists of the National Salvation for Life Movement, who recently went to a child health center and donated blood to a needy patient, says, “Our goal is the satisfaction of the Almighty, and the well-being of others. My request to others is to save others’ lives by donating blood.”

The National Salvation for Life Movement urges citizens to participate in the process of blood donation to patients in need.
