MONITORING (SW) – Sediqullah Quraishi, the information manager of the Nangarhar Information and Culture Directorate (ICD), says that the Torkham border crossing has been closed by Pakistani authorities.
He adds that the Torkham crossing was closed around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
There was no immediate comment from Pakistani authorities regarding the reason for its closure.
Quraishi emphasizes that efforts are ongoing to reopen the Torkham crossing.
In the past two years, Pakistan has repeatedly had closed the Torkham border crossing to passenger traffic, transit, and patients, citing various reasons.
