Afghanistan Railway update: 86,857 metric tons of goods transported in a week 

KABUL (SW) – The Afghanistan Railway Authority (ARA) reports that in the last week -from December 29, 2023 to January 4-, a total of 86,857 metric tons goods have been transported through Afghanistan’s railways, as stated in a newsletter on Saturday.

According to the newsletter, commercial goods totaling 61,014 tons through the Hairatan Railway, 5,189 tons via the Aqina Railway, and 20,654 tons through the Torghundi Railway were imported and exported.

The commercial goods include oil, non-oil and other materials.

The Afghanistan Railway Authority highlights that, during the past week, a significant portion of the 459 tons of transited and exported commercial goods consisted of dry fruits and orange.
