Empowerment: 3,000 Afghan women have access to online job opportunities

KABUL (SW) – Officials at the “Aseel” Technology Company say that they have provided online job opportunities for more than 3,000 women in Afghanistan.

They add that the motivation to provide this opportunity to women was to support women and sell their artistic and handicraft products after imposing restrictions on women in Afghanistan.

According to them, more than 3000 women are working in online markets and can sell handicrafts such as flower embroidery, leather embroidery, and other products online.

Samira Gohari, the media representative of “Aseel” technology company in Afghanistan, says that women who are at home can connect with the application of this organization and create an account for themselves, and after that, they can sell their products and handicrafts online.

She adds: “After the women have displayed their products and handicrafts, we provide the basis for their sale and marketing in international markets, as well as the transfer of products and handicrafts to the country where the customers ordered them, is done online.”

Meanwhile, a number of women who sell their handicrafts and manufactured products in the online market via the Aseel app say that with launching this program, their commercial goods have been marketed more.

Farzana one of these women who has been working online for more than two years, says: “I had a job before the Islamic Emirate came to power, and after that I became unemployed. When I stayed at home, I was forced to do embroidery and sew Afghan clothes, it was difficult for me to sell them, but after knowing this application, I was able to display my handicrafts there and attract many domestic and foreign customers.”

According to the officials of “Aseel” Technology Company, women’s handicrafts and products in Afghanistan currently have hundreds of customers in countries such as America, Canada, Australia, and Germany.
