Deputy minister charges INGOs for alleged looting

KABUL (SW) – The deputy minister of youth affairs at the Ministry of Information and Culture says that international non-government organizations have come to Afghanistan to steal.

Qari Muhammad Younis Rashid made these statements in a meeting held with the youth of Paktia University. He added that foreign organizations have not come to Afghanistan for reconstruction and according to him, their only purpose is theft, robbery and looting. He said during his speech in this meeting that the aid given to Afghanistan during the past two years harmed the people from the spiritual side.

He said: “Foreign organizations came to Afghanistan to steal, rob and loot. It is very unfortunate that some time ago they said that after the Emirate came to power, we have given two billion dollars in aid to Afghanistan. If I swear that they have not spent even two hundred thousand out of two thousand million, they spend all the rest on things that are either useless or harm our people spiritually.”

He also added that currently 80 percent of the previous government’s employees are working in government agencies, and most of them are young people.
