27 urban plans completed in a year

KABUL (SW) – Officials in the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said at a press conference about the government’s accountability program that in the past year, 27 urban plans have been completed by this ministry.

In addition to this, the topographical survey of 160 areas for the construction of townships and administrative buildings, planning and reconstruction of 18 infrastructure networks in nine provinces, sending at least 129 urban plans in different districts and provinces, and preparing 21 plans for the improvement of areas that were built in a non-planned manner in cities were presented at achievements in the past one year.

Madar Ali Karimi Bamiani, the deputy of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, said: “27 urban plans for the center and provinces, which include master plans, national comprehensive plans, detailed plans, regional plans, and reform plans have been designed and prepared.”

On the other hand, the officials of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said that the implementation work of the Qatari project has been started by this Ministry in the Urban Development Department and it has progressed to 45%.

Likewise, the officials of this ministry announced the beginning of the first works of the Nili Bagh project and the 10% progress of its work. They also talk about the preparations for the implementation of the “new cable” project.

Hamdullah Nomani, Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said: “The important and major project for us is the project of administrative facilities, the work of which was started by India before and now it is stopped, and we met with the Ambassador and Chargé d’affaires of India many times to restart its work. we have talked, but they have not given us a positive answer so far.”

Officials of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing also emphasized that the work of preventing arbitrary urban constructions began last year in all cities and this process is still ongoing.
