Five lives lost to flash floods in Ghazni

GHAZNI (SW) – At least five people got killed as flash floods hit Ghazni province, said officials on Tuesday. 

The local officials of Ghazni say that last night as a result of the flood in this province, five people died and dozens of houses were destroyed.

According to the officials, these floods have flowed in Ghaib Qalandar, Khairabad, Amir Mohammad Khan Fort, Shehadeh Fort and Nawabad areas of the center of Ghazni and Andar, Waghaz and Qarabagh districts of this province.

Omar Haqqani, the head of natural disaster management authority in Ghazni, told Salaam Watandar that surveys are ongoing and the casualties may increase.

According to him, 500 families have been displaced from their homes and moved to the center of Islamic culture and mosques in Ghazni city.
