KABUL (SW) – Analysts believe that in order to be recognized, the caretaker government of Afghanistan should take measures within the country that are in line with national and international demands.
It has been more than two years that the demands and efforts of the Islamic Emirate to be recognized by the world have not been realized, and countries still refuse to recognize the caretaker government of Afghanistan, and it is not clear how long this isolation of Afghanistan will last.
Nevertheless, some countries are prepared to continue their relations with Afghanistan under the rule of the Islamic Emirate and allow the delegations of the Islamic Emirate to travel even though the officials of the Islamic Emirate are facing travel restrictions from the United Nations. On Saturday, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan announced the visit of Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting head of the ministry, to Turkey. This trip seeks ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the Islamic Emirate and Turkey.
Analysts say that the requirements in bilateral relations force Turkey to have a series of interactions with the Afghan government.
In this regard, Mahmoud Ankhrebi, an expert on international relations, told Salaam Watandar: “The relations between the two countries are mostly based on the common needs of the two countries. Afghanistan and Türkiye have a lot in common. In order to establish stronger relations, Turkey cannot wait for what the West will do or when it will recognize the government of Afghanistan.”
Homayoun Khairi, expert about political issues, said: “It is natural that this trip has a series of results and the foreign policy of this country will determine the approach of the Turkish government towards Afghanistan. But establishing relations with an official government is different from an informal government, and Türkiye establishes relations due to some needs, but official relations with Afghanistan require internal legitimacy. For global legitimacy, the current government must show that it represents all the people of Afghanistan.”
It should be mentioned that Türkiye is currently hosting the important political figures of the Republic period and it has not been said whether the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with these figures or not.
