QALA-E-NAU (SW) – Security officials in Badghis confirm that a security guard of the field office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in this province got killed on Sunday night.
Sediqullah Seddiqi, the spokesman of the Badghis security command, told Salam Watandar that the incident took place in the second district of Qala-e-Nau, the capital of this province.
According to Sediqullah Seddiqi, their initial investigations show that this security guard of the UNICEF office died as a result of a mistake by shooting himself.
The spokesperson of Badghis security command added that the killed person was a resident of Herat’s old Kashk district.
The officials of the central and field offices of UNICEF in Kabul and Badghis have not said anything about this yet.
