KABUL (SW) – Unknown attackers gunned down a prayer leader in Kabul, confirmed an official on Thursday.
Khalid Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul Police Command, confirmed to Salam Watandar that unidentified gunmen killed Imam Qari Najibullah Azizi of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq Mosque in the 8th security district.
According to him, Najibullah Azizi was going home from the mosque after the morning prayer when unknown people shot at him and also killed a prayer person.
Zadran assures that the security officials have started investigating the incident and arresting its perpetrators.
At the same time, the residents of the area say that the person who was killed along with the Mullah Imam of the mosque was an autorickshaw driver.
So far, no one or any armed group has taken responsibility for the killing of this Mullah Imam and one of his followers.
