Kharwar district connected to national telecommunication grid

PUL-E-ALAM (SW) – Logar’s Kharwar district has been connected to the national telecommunication grid, said officials on Monday.

Matiullah Abid, head of Logar Telecommunication and Information Technology department, told Salam Watandar that for the first time the Afghan Wireless and Roshan Telecommunication companies have started their telecommunication and internet services in Kharwar district of this province.

Head of Telecommunication and Information Technology in Logar added that in the previous government, there was no active telecommunication company in this district, which made people face many problems and people used to travel 4 to 5 kilometers to contact their friends.

According to officials, some 70% of the residents of Logar province have access to telecommunications and internet services, and efforts are being made to provide access to telecommunications and internet services to the remaining areas of this province as well.
