Islamic Emirate chief orders to take beggars out from Kabul

KABUL (SW) – The top Islamic Emirate leader has directed authorities to take out all the beggars from the capital Kabul.

Bakhtar state news agency reported on its Twitter page that by the order of Hebatullah Akhundza, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, the economic deputy of the Prime Minister is obliged to start work on collecting beggars from Kabul city and solving their problems in coordination with relevant institutions.

Bakhtar said that beggars who have some skills and knowledge will be provided with a job after biometric registration, and their supervisors will be asked to promise not to beg again.

Child beggars are also going to be provided with education. Bakhtar wrote that “real” beggars who cannot do anything will be paid a living.

This is despite the fact that unemployment and poverty have become widespread in Afghanistan after the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate. It is said that half of the population of Afghanistan is facing hunger.
