Uruzgan residents call for landmines to be cleared

Deadly landmines kill 28 civilians in Arghandab in 10 days

They call on the Islamic Emirate to clear their homes of debris and unexploded ordnance so that they can return to their homes.

“In many areas, mines and other dangerous ammunition still exidt and have not exploded,” said Ehsanullah, a resident of Uruzgan. “No one can return home. We call on the Islamic Emirate to take action in this regard.”

Meanwhile, Uruzgan health officials say that after the Islamic Emirate came to power, a number of residents have fallen victim to the remnants of the war and have been transferred to health centers.
