HERAT CITY (SW) – Five members of a single family in Herat have been killed by unknown assailants, said officials on Saturday.
Herat security officials say the incident took place last night in the village of Khaja Sarmah in the Injil district of the province.
Shah Mahmoud Rasouli, spokesman for the Herat Police Command, told Salam Watandar that five members of a family, including an elderly man, a woman and three children, had been mysteriously killed by unknown individuals.
According to a spokesman for the Herat Police Command, an examination of their teams at the scene showed that the incident was due to personal animosity.
On the other hand, local sources in Herat say that unknown people beheaded these five people. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Herat security officials added that the issue is being pursued by the forces of the Islamic Emirate.
