Islamic Emirate warns Biden of reciprocal policy moves

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate has warned Washington of reciprocal policy moves against the US President Joe Biden’s announcement of splitting Afghanistan’s state reserves.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has issued a statement reacting to a recent order by US President Joe Biden to seize part of the Da Afghanistan Bank assets, calling it provocative and warning Washington reciprocal policy move.

A statement issued by Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate and Deputy Minister for Information and Culture, stated that if the US did not relinquish its position and continued with the provocative actions, the Islamic Emirate will also have to reconsider its policy towards that country.

The statement by the Islamic Emirate stated: “Biden’s government initially seized Afghanistan’s assets, contrary to all international norms, and now wants to seize it arbitrarily. The Islamic Emirate has called the confiscation of Afghan assets as an unjustified act and a violation of the rights of the Afghan people”.

The statement stressed that the 9/11 attacks had nothing to do with Afghan citizens and that the seizure of the assets of the Afghan people under this pretext is a clear act of aggression and oppression.

The Islamic Emirate has also called Biden ‘s recent decision equal to publicly oppose the agreement signed with the Islamic Emirate. “In order for the US to save itself from the reproach of the world and not to damage its relations with the Afghans, it must reverse its decision and release the Afghanistan assets unconditionally, and refrain from such provocative acts,” the statement said. “It will cause more mistrust between the two sides.”
