Four members of polio vaccination team assassinated

MONITORING (SW) – At least four members of the polio vaccination team were gunned down by unknown gunmen in Kunduz province, confirmed officials on Thursday. 

Obaidullah Abedi, spokesman for the Kunduz Security Command, told Salam Watandar that unidentified gunmen had shot dead members of the vaccination team in two separate incidents in Kunduz today.

According to Abedi, the two were vaccinated were killed in the area of ​​”Buzkashi Square” in the fourth security district of Kunduz, and the other two were killed in the area of ​​”Numra-e-Sayyaf” area located in “Seh Darak” of the city.

The spokesman for the Kunduz Security Command added that they had begun their investigation and would later share their information with the media. He said one of the vaccinators killed was a woman and the other three were men.

On the other hand, a source in the Kunduz District Hospital told Salam Watandar that four severely injured vaccinators had been brought to the hospital today, and all of them died after being transferred to the hospital.

No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
