SHEBERGHAN (SW) – Former vice president Abdul Rasheed Dostum has returned to Afghanistan with a new security plan, his close aide told Salam Watandar.
Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum, the leader of the Junbish party, was in Turkey for some time due to health problems, and returned to the country from Uzbekistan last evening via Hairatan port in Balkh province.
Ehsan Niroo, a spokesman for the Junbish party, confirmed that Dostum has a plan to contain the security situation in the north and northeast of the country, and that measures would be taken soon to mobilize the people and retake the lost areas.

The spokesman added that Marshal Dostum was scheduled to meet with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and return to the north of the country after presenting his plan. Niroo did not elaborate on the details of the plan.
According to him, after Marshall Dostum’s plans were shared with the President, implementation will begin soon, and equipping the popular uprising forces, one of the remaining challenges so far, will be discussed at the meeting.
As Taliban attacks increased in the northern and northeastern provinces of the country, Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum went to Jawzjan province to lead the war in the north, and while fighting continued in the province, he left for Turkey due to illness.
According to reports, he also contacted and directed local commanders during this time via mobile phone.
