The Embassy of the Islamic Emirate in Iran has announced that 408 Afghan prisoners have been transferred from Iran to Afghanistan.
In a post on X on Thursday (June 11), the embassy stated that the prisoners were transferred to Afghanistan in the first phase of the eleventh round of the Prisoner Transfer Committee, following a directive from Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the embassy, the transfer process for Afghan prisoners will continue in upcoming days.
The transfer of Afghan prisoners from Iran is being carried out in phases under agreements between Iran and the Islamic Emirate.
