Young students in Jalalabad denounce Kabul bombing

JALALABAD (SW) – Young school children in Jalalabad on Sunday gathered to denounce the deadly bombing in Kabul a day earlier that killed score of school children in cold blood.

Addressing a press conference, the school children urged warring factions in Afghanistan to denounce violence and reach a political settlement. They particularly called for safety of civilians and security of academic institutions in the country.

Ruqaya, one of the students, said on the occasion that the raging violence, particularly the killing of young school girls in Kabul has left devastating impacts on their minds and hearts.



Yaseen, a sixth grade student, on his term said students are vulnerable to all sorts of violence in the society, and all should have regard and mercy for them instead of targeting them.

The students at this gathering also demanded the government to bring the perpetrators of Kabul’s school bombing to justice.

At least over 50 people, mostly young girls, got killed and over 100 got injured on Saturday when multiple blasts ripped through the girls leaving school in Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul.
