Deputy of Taliban’s military commission killed

KABUL (SW) – The ministry of defense claimed to have killed the deputy head of the Taliban’s military commission in an air raid in Helmand province.

In the MoD report on Saturday, it is said that this attack occurred in Khusor-Abad area of Nawa district in Helmand province. The ministry added that in this attack all together 8 Taliban insurgents were killed. The Ministry mentioned the name of deputy head of the insurgents’ military commission as ‘Mula Amanullah’ who was said to be spearheading ‘Shafiq Network’ of the insurgents.

The defense ministry also claimed to have destroyed a cache of arms and ammunition of the Taliban in Nawa district.

The Taliban has not commented about this issue.

Helmand remains one of the insecure spots in the country that has recently endured surge in deadly assaults by the Taliban. As a result of several such attacks in this province, about 7 thousand families have left their houses.
