The Afghanistan office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that it has provided access to safe water for nearly 10,000 people in the country.
In a post on X on Sunday (July 5), the agency stated that these individuals in Nuristan now have access to safe drinking water.
According to UNICEF, providing safe water helps protect children and their families from waterborne diseases.
Earlier, the European Union stated that more than 21 million people in Afghanistan lack access to safe drinking water.
