Thousands of criminal cases record in past six months

KABUL (SW) – During the past six months, 8,747 criminal cases have been recorded throughout Afghanistan. Related to these cases, 12,540 individuals were detained and 733 others are under investigation, officials stated.

Abdul Matin Qane, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, says: “In six months, 8,747 criminal cases have been recorded by police. 7,233 cases were investigated and 1,525 other cases are under investigation.”

The arrest of 800 suspects, including 449 security personnel on charges of corruption, the collection of 42,000 rounds of light and heavy weapons, the recording of 19 kidnapping incidents, in connection with which 21 people were killed and 172 others were arrested, are among the other achievements of the Ministry of Interior in the last six months, Qane added.

In charge of other different crimes, the Ministry of Interior reports the arrest of 221 individuals from the airports and passage ways and ground control of the country.

Emphasizing that no armed group would be permitted to operate in Afghanistan, officials say that last year has been a good year from the security point of view in the country.

Qane, says, “In most of the provinces of Afghanistan, no anti-security events have happened, which has been unprecedented in the past few decades.”
