Youth in Kabul seeks support to educate hundreds of deprived children

KABUL (SW) – In the Khak Jabar district of Kabul city, a young individual named Wazir Khan has initiated over five local educational classes, offering free primary education to more than 1000 children.

As an education activist, Khan established these classes two years ago to provide the education opportunity to boys and girls deprived of schooling in the district. He urges the Islamic Emirate and donor institutions for support.

He adds: “There was no school in this area in the past. Now children, including children with disabilities, study here. Every boy and girl in Afghanistan should study.”

Wazir Khan and 30 other teachers teach children voluntarily.

In addition to these classes, Khan has also established a mobile library and started the process of collecting books in other districts of Kabul. According to him, 1000 books have been collected so far.

Seyed-al-rahman, a resident of Khak Jabar, says, “We are in a remote area where our boys and girls are deprived of school. We are also happy that the classes have been launched. They should be supported more.”

Karim, another resident of Khak Jabar, demand the Islamic Emirate to build a school for the children in this district. He adds: “We are very poor, there is no tent, we request them to build a school, and help us so these poor people can study.”

Similarly, Nader, another resident of this district, points out that children study in outdoor spaces, in cold weather, snowfall, rain, or the warm weather conditions.
