Logar residents urge implementation of distinct military uniforms for armed forces

LOGAR (SW) – Residents of Logar province, express concern about the military forces of the de-facto government operating in the center and districts of the province with the lack distinctive uniforms, saying that most of them operate in personal clothing.

The residents share with Salam Watandar that the presence of armed individuals in civilian clothes has heightened concerns among the local population.

Saifurahman, a resident of Pol-e Alam, the central of Logar, says that many individuals in cities and on highways carry weapons while dressed in civilian clothing, which diminishes the credibility of the soldiers and raises concerns among the public.

He adds: “My request to the government is to force all soldiers to wear uniforms. On the other hand, many people make personal use of it, such as stealing. If this is prevented, security will be guaranteed.”

Abdul-Wahid, another resident of Logar, says that “soldiers must wear military uniforms, people do not know if these people are soldiers or civilians.”

Mohammad Yasin, another resident of Logar, echoes the concerns about individuals carrying weapons in civilian clothes, making it challenging people to distinguish between responsible and irresponsible individuals. He calls on the local authorities in Logar to enforce the wearing of military uniforms by soldiers to address these concerns.

Meanwhile, Ahmadullah Anas, the spokesperson of the Logar Security Command, told Salam Watandar that a committee was recently formed with the participation of the Logar Special Forces, the Security Command, the Directorate of Intelligence and the National Army.

He emphasizes that there is an official military uniform specified for all military institutions, and every soldier must wear it as part of their standard practice.

The spokesperson of the security command in Logar adds that in addition to wearing military uniforms, the security forces have received training to interact appropriately with the public, and must try to make efforts to ensure complete security in the region.
