15,000 tons of grapes exported from Kandahar

KANDAHAR (SW) – Officials at Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment say that 15 thousand tons of grapes have been exported from this province to foreign countries so far.

Mohammad Sadiq Mohmand, director of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment of this province, says that 15 thousand tons of grapes have been exported from this province to foreign markets so far this year, and this series is still going on.

According to Mohmand, Afghan traders have received eight million and 650 thousand US dollars from these exports.

Mohmand also added that the export of fresh and dry fruits from Kandahar is going on regularly with the cooperation of the provincial administration and the customs department.

This year, it is estimated that 273 thousand and 60 tons of grapes will be harvested, which has increased by 10 percent compared to last year.

This year’s grape harvest has arrived in Kandahar and the farmers are currently busy harvesting it.
