KABUL (SW) – A number of residents of Kabul want the security institutions to increase their preparations to prevent possible security incidents in the capital especially during the Eid-ull-Adha holidays.

Abdul Qadeer, a resident of Kabul, told Salam Watandar that many people go to mosques and entertainment places during the days and nights, and according to him, they are afraid of explosions and robberies.

He said: “Security must be tight so that people can celebrate Eid happily. Everyone goes to recreational places with their family and their security should be ensnared because many people gather there and there is a possibility that the enemy may plant a mine there.”

At the same time, another resident of Kabul, Abdul al-Mateen, wants the security forces to increase the checkpoints in different areas of the city and search the documents of the vehicles. He said: “I want the government to search and check the places where the crowd is high, such as the bazaar and mosques.”

The officials of the Ministry of Interior ensure complete security during the days and nights of Eid. Bismillah Habib, deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, said that they have taken strict security measures for the days and nights of Eid.

He said: “The police are prepared to maintain security in the whole country, especially in mosques and places where people gather, they will be under strict security measures. For the mental and emotional peace of the people, celebratory shootings and fireworks are banned,” he said.

Deputy Commander of 313 Central Corps, Aminullah Tayeb, said in a special interview with Salam Watandar, that he has deployed 10,000 soldiers for the security of the central zone, especially Kabul, during the days and nights of Eid.

He said: “More than 10,000 Mujahideen have been assigned to maintain security. There is no threat to the residents of Kabul during the days and nights of Eid.”

Before this, people in other provinces, including Kabul, avoided going to crowded areas during Eid nights and days due to fear of security threats, but security officials say that security has been strengthened.
