Floods kills scores of livestock in Samangan

SAMANGAN (SW) – Officials at the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Samangan have confirmed the loss of hundreds of livestock as a result of floods in this province.

Karamuddin Mahmoudi, head of livestock and animal health in Samangan Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department, has said that as a result of heavy rain and flooding in Chilak valley and Koch Nehal village of Rui Doab district, more than 1000 cattle were lost.

It should be noted that in recent weeks, devastating floods have caused casualties and financial losses in a number of provinces.

According to reports, at least 13 people have lost their lives as a result of natural events, including floods in the past three months.
