FAIZABAD (SW) – Authorities in Badakhshan claimed to have prevented a suspected suicide attack in the provincial capital, Faizabad.

Moazuddin Ahmadi, the head of information and culture of Badakhshan, has said that around 8:30 this morning, a suicide bomber near the entrance of Kabul Bank in the city of Faizabad, the capital of this province, wanted to detonate explosives. He said the Islamic Emirate forces shot him dead before the attack.

According to the head of information and culture of Badakhshan, no one else was seriously injured in this incident except the suicide bomber.

No person or group has yet taken responsibility for this event.

It should be noted that two months ago, as a result of an explosion near the Badakhshan police headquarters, three people were killed, including Abdulhaq Abu Omar, the former police commander of this province, and two others were injured.

The ISIS group took responsibility for that attack.
