KABUL (SW) – The second deputy to the head of the cabinet of ministers has asserted that no one has the right to arrest or execute anyone without a legal process.

Abdus Salam Hanafi said this while rejecting the claims about the killing of prisoners of war by the forces of the Islamic Emirate. He said that the authority to decide on the prisoners of war lies only with the court and no one has the right to kill or execute them. .

He said during a meeting in Kabul on Wednesday that if anyone accidentally harms someone they would be held responsible for it,

“No one has the right to kill prisoners outside the battlefield. If someone does this, he has committed a personal crime and is guilty from the point of view of the Islamic Emirate.”

He added the cases of prisoners of war should be processed and decided by the court. “We have established a military court for the violations of the Islamic Emirate forces”, he added.

He also denied the rumors that the forces had killed the prisoners of war.

Recently, the United Nations Political Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced that it will send a delegation to Panjsher to investigate the allegations of human rights violations in this province, but it has not yet said anything about the activities and investigations of this delegation.
