Flash floods cause devastation in Logar

PUL-E-ALAM (SW) – Officials at the Logar Natural Disaster Management Department say that as a result of heavy rains and flooding in Pul-e-Alam city, the capital of this province, and Khushi district, many casualties and financial losses have been caused to the people.

Omar Mansour, the spokesman of Logar Governor, told Salam Watandar that as a result of these floods, 20 people, including women and children, have died.

The spokesman of the governor of Logar added that about 3,000 houses were destroyed and 2,000 livestock were killed in Khushi district.

Earlier, Abdullah Mafker, the head of Logar Natural Disaster Management Department, told Salam Watandar that as a result of the flood, huge losses have been caused to the residents of “Dere” area of ​​Khushi district. He added that as a result of the flood in Khushi district, the bodies of 12 people including women and children have been found and 7 others are missing.

Mafker emphasized that 600 houses have been destroyed as a result of the flood in this district and efforts are underway to save the flood-affected families. He said there is a possibility of more casualties.

On the other hand, Shahul-Rahman Siddiqui, one of the tribal elders of Khushi district, told Salam Watandar that hundreds of houses were destroyed in the villages of “Bala Deh, Miane Deh, and Payan Deh” last night as a result of the flood.

He added that the death toll of this event is more than 12 people, and a number of children have been swept away by the flood and are still missing.

It should be mentioned that as a result of the flood in Pul Alam and Mohammad Agha district yesterday, huge losses have been caused to the people in many parts and dozens of families have been displaced from their homes.
