JALALABAD (SW) – Local sources in Nangarhar told Salam Watandar that a child was killed and his mother was injured when a mortar shell exploded in the Haska Maina district of the province.
According to sources, the incident took place at around 9:30 this morning in the “Mariz” area of the district. Sources added that the incident occurred when the child was carrying a mortar shell with him when it exploded. According to sources, the sound of the explosion was very loud.
Local officials in Nangarhar have not yet commented on the incident.
Explosive remnants of war have already exploded in a number of provinces, including Nangarhar, killing civilians, especially children.
