Probe launched into the detention of Allah Gul Mujahed

KABUL (SW) – A probe has been launched into the detention and humiliation of a Kabul-based politician, Allah Gul Mujahed.

Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, instructed the officials of the National Directorate of Security at a meeting of the Council of Ministers to investigate the case of “arrest and torture” of Allah Gul Mujahid, a former member of the Wolesi Jirga (lower house).
Enamullah Samangani, the deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, wrote on Twitter today that the Prime Minister had ordered the investigation into the arrest and torture of Allah Gul Mujahid at the ninth meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Islamic Emirate. According to Samangani, the Prime Minister has also called for legal action against the perpetrators of the beating of this former member of the house.
Earlier, videos of Mujahid were posted on social media, showing the former member of the house being beaten and insulted by Islamic Emirate forces. Following the release of these videos, an audiotape of Allah Gul Mujahid was also posted on social media. In this audiotape, he called this incident as ‘cruel’.
