KABUL (SW) – Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate, has said their forces had dismantled a Daesh hideout in Kabul last night.
He said the operation was carried out last night by a special unit of the Emirate.
The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate added that the operation was “very decisive and successful” and that the “Daesh” center was completely destroyed and all its members in it were killed. Zabihullah Mujahid, however, did not specify the number of casualties.
Meanwhile, several explosions were heard from the north of Kabul last night.
Officials at the Talban’s Islamic Emirate said at the outset that they had clashed with members of the Daesh group. Some local sources also said that gunmen had attacked positions of the group in the northern parts of the city.
At least eight people were killed in a blast at a mosque in Kabul on Sunday, according to media reports.
Mujahid earlier said on Twitter that “a “number of civilians” had died in the blast “near the entrance of the Eid Gah Mosque in Kabul.”
