Afghanistan Steel Melting and Manufacturing Union established

KABUL (SW) – The establishment of Afghanistan Steel Melting and Manufacturing Union was announced here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, officials of this union said that in order to establish proper coordination among industries and help development of the country’s metal products industry, it was necessary for the country’s iron and metal production sector to work together.

Idris Faqiri, president of the Union, said that through this union, the member firms would produce aluminum, and parts for vehicles and construction hardware.

Faqiri also said that the challenges in this sector will be removed through this union and with the cooperation of the Islamic Emirate of the Taliban.

With the establishment of the Union, member firms presented their key demands to the Taliban leadership.

Ali Hussein Hosseini, one of the country’s investors, said he hoped the Taliban would work with the business community to serve the people by promoting domestic production.

Obaidullah Haqqani, head of the Taliban’s Ministry of Commerce, said on the occasion that that they would provide the necessary facilities for industrialists.
