QALAT (SW) – A major road accident left at least 14 people killed and more than 10 injured on Kabul – Kandahar highway in southern Zabul province, officials confirmed on Friday.
Abdul Hakim Hakemi, Zabul governor’s secretary, told Salam Watandar that the traffic accident took place Thursday evening when a passenger bus collided with a mini-bus in Qalat, the provincial capital of Zabul. According to Hakemi, 14 people were killed and 10 others were injured in the accident.
Dr. Nazir Harifal, chief physician of Zabul Provincial Hospital, said the injured had been taken to the hospital. According to him, the health condition of two of the injured is critical.
Zabul traffic officials blamed drivers’ carelessness for the incident, but drivers said bumpy road caused the accident.
