COVID-19 claims 11 more lives in 24 hours

KABUL (SW) – The health ministry on Sunday confirmed 41 new cases of coronavirus and 11 deaths in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, a total of 1692 tests were conducted nationwide out of which 41 confirmed positive while 63 patients previously infected with the virus recovered.

It said since the beginning of the spread of the corona virus until Sunday, a total of 354, 478 people across the country have been tested for the Covid-19. Of these, 56,717 people have been infected with the virus and 2,508 people have lost their lives due to the virus. Similarly, 51,865 people have recovered after initially contracting the virus.

Meanwhile, Abdul Hakim Tamna, the head of public health department in Herat had recently warned of the spread of the third wave of the coronavirus, especially its mutated form (British coronavirus) in the country. Tamna said in a statement last week that there are enough vaccines available. He called on Herat residents to take people over the age of 50 to health centers for the vaccine.
