5 people killed in bomb blast in Kapisa

KAPISA (SW) – Authorities in Kapisa province said on Sunday a bomb blast aimed at the head of ‘Uleme Council’ here killed 5 people and injured 9 others.

Spokesman for the provincial police command, Abdul Shayeq Shorish said the head of ‘Ulema Council, Mirwais Karimi survived the bomb blast, and got injured. He said the incident took place in the Sayad area that killed 5 people and injured 9 others.

According to the police spokesman the bomb blast was caused by a magnetic bomb attached to Karimi’s car. Shayeq said the ‘Uleme Council’ head was travelling from Kabul to Kapisa when the bomb went off.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
