KABUL (SW) – First vice president Amrullah Saleh has sought suggestions and ideas for the revival of 20th century ‘Kabul Nandaray’ theater hall in the capital city.

In a social media post, Saleh said it has been ages that the Kabul Nandaray remains useless, and now is the time to take it out of this state.

The Kabul Nandaray theater complex was built during the reign of King Zahir Shah in 1964, and was considered as one of the best in the region. According to reports, a contract has been signed with a private firm for the revival of it, however, work has not commenced in this regard.

It is worth noticing the iconic Cinema Park in Kabul was demolished earlier this month on the directives of Saleh as part of the ‘Urban Discipline’ drive, which was widely criticized and condemned by many in the literary circles.
