19 killed as Kabul University attacked by unknown assailants

KABUL (SW) – Unknown assailants entered Kabul University and opened fire indiscriminately on Monday, Roman Karimi, correspondent Salam Watandar said.

Karimi said several assailants entered the Kabul University faculty of law and shot at a number of students. The details of the casualties are not yet clear as security forces were busy rescuing students from inside the university.

Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said the terrorist attack on the Kabul University ended with all three terrorist killed. He said 19 people got martyred and 22 others got injured in the attack.

The assailants reportedly entered the university’s through the North Gate. The Ministry of Health has said 22 injured people have been taken to hospital so far.

The Taliban have said no members of the group were involved.
