My name is Siyaam Akbari. I am a first-year Computer Science student at a private university. Alongside my university studies, I am also studying the German language at an educational center. From an early age, I have had a strong interest in technology and modern tools, and I have always tried to use digital resources for my learning and academic progress.
For the first time, I heard about Artificial Intelligence (AI) through social media. On Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms, numerous videos and posts about this technology were widely shared. When I watched these videos, I was quite surprised. I found it interesting how a program could answer questions, translate texts, summarize content, and even help people learn new skills. At that time, AI seemed more like something from the future rather than a tool for everyday use.
After some time, I noticed that many of my friends and people I knew had begun using this technology. This increased my curiosity, and I decided to try it myself. At the beginning, my use was very limited. I mainly used it to translate a few words, understand the meaning of certain expressions, or ask simple questions. To be honest, during that period I did not fully trust the responses generated by AI and therefore used it with caution.
However, as time passed, my understanding of this technology grew. Gradually, I realized that AI is not just a simple translator or question-answering tool; rather, it can play an important role in understanding complex topics, planning, analyzing content, and even learning new skills. This realization led me to use it more often, and it soon became an important part of my academic routine.
Now, I have been using AI for more than two years. During this time, it has become a constant companion in my learning journey. In particular, it has played a significant role in my German language learning. Whenever I face a difficult word, grammatical structure, or text, I can ask help and receive clear explanations that make understanding much easier.
I use AI a lot in my university studies as well. Sometimes, I use it to help summarize lengthy academic texts, find educational resources, and better understand concepts discussed in class. It has also become a useful and accessible tool for conducting research, reviewing content, and becoming familiar with new topics.
I believe that one of the biggest advantages of AI is that it makes the learning process faster and more purposeful. Many questions that once required hours of searching can now be answered in a short time. In addition, AI can explain complex topics in simpler language, helping students develop a deeper understanding of various subjects.
However, I believe that the use of AI must be conscious and responsible. Although this technology is highly powerful, it cannot replace human thinking, creativity, and personal effort. I always make an effort to assess the answers I receive rather than rely on them alone.
My message to youth and those who are newly introduced to AI is not to be afraid of using this technology, but also not to depend on it. AI can be a powerful assistant for learning, personal growth, and skill development; however, its true value emerges only when it is used as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human thinking. If used correctly and responsibly, this technology can provide significant opportunities for personal progress and even societal development.
