OCHA: Returning women and girls are among the most vulnerable

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan has stated that women and girls returning to the country are among the most vulnerable.

In a post on X today (Thursday, April 23), the agency said that many returning women face restricted access to essential services, education, livelihoods, and protection.

OCHA has emphasized the importance of humanitarian support to address their urgent needs.

According to United Nations statistics, since 2023, 5.5 million people have returned from Iran and Pakistan, nearly one-third of whom are women and children.
