The Afghanistan office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that 610,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition in the country have been treated.
In a post on X today (Tuesday, March 31), the organization stated that these children were treated in 2025.
UNICEF added that it aims to treat 1.3 million children affected by malnutrition in 2026.
Earlier, the United Nations announced that nearly 3.7 million children under the age of five in Afghanistan are expected to suffer from severe malnutrition during the year.
