Local authorities in Bamyan have reported that the Kabul-Bamyan highway, which had been closed due to heavy snowfall and storms, has now been reopened after three days.
Abdul Saboor Farzan Seighani, spokesperson for the Bamyan governor, stated that the road has recently been opened but is not yet widened.
Currently, only vehicles traveling from Kabul to Bamyan are allowed to pass, and efforts to widen the road are ongoing.
Seighani also mentioned that other routes, including the roads from central Bamyan to Ghor via the “Bakak” pass, to Sar-e-Pol via the “Dagah and Spandag” passes, and to the districts of Shibar, Yakawlang, Seighan, and Kohmard in the province, have also been cleared “thanks to recent efforts”.
However, he added that the “Shato” pass, which connects Bamyan center to Daikundi and the districts of Panjshir and Waras, and the “Abqul Kerman” route to Ghor, remain closed.
Efforts to reopen these and other critical public routes are continuing, and they are expected to open soon.
