KABUL (SW) – The organization “Polio Free Afghanistan” has announced the commencement of a new campaign to administer polio vaccines in the country, set to begin this Monday, February 24.
This initiative aims to strengthen efforts against the virus and protect children.
In a statement shared on X, the organization said that the campaign will take place in various regions of Afghanistan.
However, the organization did not specify how many children under the age of five will receive the vaccine during this round.
Polio remains endemic in Afghanistan, and just yesterday—Friday, February 21—the first case of the disease in the current year was recorded in Badghis.
