Officials from the Public Health Directorate in Panjshir confirm that hundreds of people with mental health disorders have been treated in the province during the current solar year.
Hojatullah Mohammadi, the Director of Public Health in Panjshir, says that in the first nine months of this year, around 1,857 individuals with mental health disorders sought treatment at the psychiatric department of the 50-bed hospital in Rukha District, with most of them successfully receiving treatment.
He further adds that individuals with severe psychological conditions have been transferred to specialized centers for ongoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Shams Sarwari, the administrator of the 50-bed hospital in Rukha District, mentions that patients have been treated through counseling, psychotherapy, and, in some cases, medication.
Sarwari highlights the urgent need for specialized equipment in the psychiatric department, noting that, despite this, they currently strive to provide the best possible services to those seeking help.
