Afghan citizens urge Islamic Emirate to address unemployment, education issues

A number of Kabul residents, Afghanistan’s capital, urge the Islamic Emirate de-facto government to provide employment and education opportunities in the year 2025.

Khatibullah, a resident of Kabul, says, “When business grows, everyone will be at peace; the economy will improve, and people will live peacefully. Our request from the Islamic Emirate is to provide job opportunities for the youths.”

Esmatullah, another Kabul resident, adds, “Business has decreased. We hope many companies will be established this year so that people can work and escape poverty. Unemployment is high, and the situation for the people is bad.”

Additionally, several women in Kabul call on the de-facto government to not only provide employment opportunities in the new year, 2025, but also ensure educational opportunities for girls.

Nazanin, a resident of Kabul, says, “For a country to progress, women must have a role. We ask the Islamic Emirate to make changes in 2025 and provide opportunities for work and education for women.”

“We ask the government to open schools for girls, create job opportunities, and listen to our voices,” Rohina, another Kabul resident, said.

Hamdullah Fetrat, a spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, without addressing the issue of providing education for girls, says that the Islamic Emirate has plans to create employment opportunities for citizens.

He adds, “The Islamic Emirate has already launched large projects to create more job opportunities for the youths. Companies that had ceased operations have been revived, and special attention is being given to the industry to provide job opportunities for young people.”

It is worth noting that many young people and families, due to the lack of job opportunities and the deprivation of girls’ education, have been forced to leave the country and migrate to other countries.
