Afghan products showcase at “Istanbul Helal Expo 2024”

KABUL (SW) – Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate, is leading a 30-member delegation to Turkey to attend the “Istanbul Helal Expo 2024.”

The ministry further stated that Afghan products and local productions will be displayed in eight booths at this exhibition.

“Products and productions from Afghanistan in sectors such as carpets, gemstones, dried fruits, and banking will be showcased in eight booths,” according to statement.

Azizi, during his visit to Turkey, mentioned that the Islamic Emirate is working to create an economic corridor through Turkey to European markets.

Several Afghan businessmen attending the expo have expressed that participating in international exhibitions creates opportunities to sell their products.

Noor Ahmad Noori, a carpet trader, said: “Participating in this exhibition is important for us because 90% of the carpets produced in Afghanistan are exported, and this will help us find large buyers for our products.”

Economic expert, Eraj Faqiri, noted that Afghanistan’s participation in international exhibitions will expand its economic and trade relations with other countries.

“International exhibitions are crucial for strengthening Afghanistan’s commercial ties with other countries. These exhibitions are impactful and can help market Afghanistan’s domestic products,” he said.

Businessmen from 45 countries will display their products in 450 booths at the Istanbul Helal Expo 2024 over four days.

In the past three years, the Islamic Emirate has participated in several international exhibitions, including one in Kazakhstan, to support and promote local production and marketing.
