Mysterious disease outbreaks in Parwan: 2 dead and 500 infected

CHARIKAR CITY (SW) – An alarming outbreak of an unknown contagious disease has emerged in Parwan province, affecting approximately 500 residents, with the number of cases on the rise, according to local health officials.

Abdullah Afghanmal, Deputy Director of Public Health in Parwan, reported that the outbreak began four days ago – Sunday, September 22 – in the Kafshan Valley of Shinwari district.

He confirmed that two individuals have succumbed to the illness, and the health condition of 50 others is critical.

Symptoms among the affected include severe fatigue, intense pain, and high fever.

Afghanmal noted that emergency response teams have arrived in Shinwari district, where samples have been collected from those exhibiting symptoms.

Health authorities are urging residents to seek medical attention if they experience similar symptoms and to remain vigilant as the situation develops.
